Dye often better: Generally speaking, the dye often yields a better result.  Ask the dr.'s what they are looking for and you can discuss with the radiologist what test is best for you with your dye allergy.  If important, you may need to be given a prep for a dye allergy.  Best wishes.

True: IV contrast can cause severe allergic reactions in some people, especially those allergic to iodine or shellfish. IV contrast is removed from the body by the kidneys. If one is dehydrated or has baseline kidney dysfunction, administration of contrast may worsen kidney function, leading to temporary or permanent kidney failure

Consider...: I have seen inadvertent reporting of the appendix before. One of the more common ways this happens is when the radiologist reads a normal study and says "dictate normal" but forgets to remove the part in the template about the appendix. Incidentally, I have also seen a very rare case in which the patient reported prior surgery for an appendectomy but the appendix was still there.

Not completely: A ct scan will detected anatomical changes above a rather low threshold.  But some changes are smaller than that and many diseases cause cellular changes not reflected on a ct scan.  Ct is not a good screening device to begin with but useful when specific diagnoses are sought.

Adrenal : Your level may simply suggest PCOS as adrenal tumor as cause of your DHEA-S elevation will be a rare. Make sure you ask your doctor to check three things: 17 hydroxyprogesterone, prolactin and total/free testosterone
