I agree with you: There has been a great deal of hysteria and misunderstanding in the public about this disease.  I think the fears come for a variety of reasons. Media sensationalism is just one.  The virus is extremely lethal is another.  And due to a lack of supplies, personnel, etc. it has been difficult to contain.  I am much more concerned about a SARS epidemic myself.

Nonspecific: The symptoms are generally myalgias, fever, chills, cough, and confusion, which can be present in nearly any systemic viral infection, and can present as a severe case of influenza.   Contact with an infected person or travel to an endemic area would be needed to raise suspicion of this disease in the US.

Worry a little: You can get COVID-19 virus from any close contacts who are contagious, or get it by hand to mouth/nose if your hands pick up viruses from surfaces. We are in a pandemic, so assume all persons you meet may have the virus. People are contagious maybe 2-3 days after getting the virus, or 2 days before showing symptoms. Worry more, if that fits your timeline. Worry less, if it does not fit. (3/29/20)

Good question: Unfortunately, I do not think anyone has an answer to that. The data is just not there. Hopefully one of the Infectious disease providers would answer this. I would also check out CDC website as they may have data on this.

i had a covid test on 7 jan 2021, pathcare notified me on 9 jan 2021 that sars-cov-2 was not detected and i currently do not present any of the covid-19 symptoms. are there any follow up treatments or quarantine measures that need to be conducted?

Symptoms : Speak to a doctor. In order to be released from isolation, you need to have no symptoms possibly related to COVID without using medication and a minimum of 10 days (many say 14 days)  have passed since the diagnosis.

2-14 days: Incubation period is 2 to 14 days. So , symptoms would show up 2-14 days after you catch the virus if it shows up. Sometimes you get infected but you are asymptomatic and you still shed the virus via respiratory droplets, by breathing and even talking against to someone.

is 13.64 sufficient amount to fight infections?

: yes, a recent study done at the Cleveland Clinic showed that antibodies from a COVID-19 infection are strong enough to give immunity to the virus and at this time they felt it was unnecessary for those individuals to receive the vaccine. Remember, this is only one study, so you should have this discussion with your PCP and follow his recommendations
