Heating pad: Have something like a towel under it, between your skin and the heating pad but yes you can use one.

can someone please tell me why i have abdominal pains? i work from home and sit a lot dont really work out daily. would that be the cause? i literally lay in bed at night with salon pain patches and heating pad sometimes?

: At age 28, even with a sedentary lifestyle (working from home) persistent abdominal pains interrupting normal sleep should be evaluated by a physician.  Obtain a referral to a GI specialist for an exam and other testing.

i had a heating pad on my abdomen unfortunately i fell asleep and i had it over my abdomen for one hour. abdomen was red but it went away. concerned internal damage?

: The abdomen has generous blood flow which regulates/controls local organ temperature. I cannot see how the external heat source you mention would have any effect on the deep abdominal structures.

Appendicitis?: Have someone to take you to an E/R . You need exam and tests to find out what is going on with you.

You're getting: Younger . Suggest to your dr to consider giving u muscle relaxers and/or opioids usual causes of back pain are muscle strain &ddd/degenerative disc disease/ arthritis of the spine.Though the name sounds dreadful, fear not! people don't die from it. Continue with what u r doing.Maintain good posture, massage and physical therapy may help if it worsens, x-ray and/or MRI of the spine may b warranted.

i am/was ovulating and i norm get pain. last night when i had extreme pain, a heating pad helped. the pain was across my lower abdomen on my c-section scar from 2 years ago. when i sit it hurts in my rectum. when i poop it hurts in pelvis. whats wron?

: Your symptoms seem unusual for pain from ovulation. Keep observe the symptoms for now, ovulating pain should be over by now but your symptoms persist and other symptoms develop, you should see your doctor. Local heat +/- OTC analgesic (tylenol or advil) can be used temporarily. There is not enough info at this time for a clinical diagnosis.

Menstrual cramps: If you desire non-medication approaches you can discuss use of  traditional herbal like Black Cohosh w your Dr.  Sipping Chamomile tea can also help to dissipate pain.  A small amt of essential oil massaged onto  abdomen can be calming. Consider lavender, rosemary or sage.  Stretch your body.  Inhale slowly through your nostrils. Fill your lungs and hold for a count of five before slowly exhale.

Livedo reticularis: Netlike rash (livedo reticularis) could be a normal variant with cold exposure. In this case it disappears once skin is warmed up. If it is a persistent skin pattern, some investigation & possibly a skin biopsy are needed. Livedo is a vascular pattern, meaning there is some inflammation of blood vessels, which can be seen in lupus, vasculitis, certain meds & others. Please see dermatologist.
