i take multiple prescribed pills daily and the ones i took today seem to have lodged in my esophagus and its causing very bad chest pain for me. ive tried everything ive drank heaps of water and tried eating bread. what else can i do?

: You may have reflux consider adding  omeprazole to your regimen but do to the acute nature of the chest pain  that you are having now  I would seek medical attention at a clinic / pediatrician today .

Yes: Not uncommon to have chest pain with this issue. Sometimes included  with the differential diagnosis of causes of chest pain.

i have on and off chest pain not really severe just annoying..no other symptoms besides chest pain more in the middle to right can it be my acid reflux or worse stuff like cancer in my esophagus?

Reflux  NOT Cancer.: If chest pain is worse with movement, with Deep Breathing, with Pressure on the Chest = can be inflammation called CostoChondritis; Rx with Local Heat and Ice application or Anti Inflammatory medicine Ointment.
 If Heart burn after eating  or sour taste associated with Annoying Chest pain could be from Reflux. Try OTC Pepcid (famotidine) or Omeprazole for 2 to 4 weeks. 
 See your MD if not better with above Rx

omeprazole helps 90% of chest pain. lingering pain when i sit/move/lay in certain ways. should i continue omep. for more than 14 days? is this pain b/c of damaged esophagus? if i press hard on my chest in a certain way, i feel the pain again.

Sounds more: like COSTOCHONDRITIS  (inflammed cartilages between your breastbone and your ribs! than GERD

Ask your PCP if this diagnosis is a possibility...IBUPROFEN/HEAT may be the more effective treatment....

does famotidine help get acid out of your esophagus. like how does it help it to get rid of chest pain from acid reflux. ?

Famotidine: is an "H-2" blocker that is it BLOCKS ACID RELEASE
thus reducing the amount acid BURNING your esophagus! This esophageal pain is felt as CHEST PAIN since the esophagus runs thru the chest!

i have terrible pain in my stomach after i eat. i have terrible chest pain do you think it may be esophagus? already ruled out heart probs.

Terrible Pain: I am, unfortunately, the bearer of bad news. When ever one has 'terrible' pain there is little to offer online.  I feel that the patient needs urgent in -person medical evaluation and treatment. There are several significant illnesses these symptoms could represent from the worst being heart problems to gerd or peptic ulcer disease, to infection and or ulceration of the esophagus.

can gas get stuck in your esophagus and cause it to expand and cause chest pain? or is this acid reflux all test done on heart & nothing is wrong.

Absolutely: food and air can get stuck going down esophagus, and cause a severe chest pain that is relieved by burping or swallowing something. Also reflux of stomach acid into esophagus can cause a burning chest pain that is usually relieved with antacids. Esophageal spasm causes severe chest pain, it is usually provoked by severe reflux. should i be concerned that i now have pleural thickening as a result of a perforated esophagus and a 5 centimeter abscess with pleuritic chest pain ?

Mgt: I would suggest cultures of the abscess fluid to include bacterial and TB tests. The thickening may be reactive scarring, but the fluid should be analyzed to guide further management.

Cancer esophagus----: I am sure the doctor in charge of his treatment has a plan of treatment which you should find out and share with us. This seems to be an early cancer which may be curable provided the best treatments are used ....which include surgery or radiotherapy combined with chemotherapy. Tell us what the doctor has advised you to do and when is his treatment getting started???

can erosion of esophagus cause chest pain and throat pain?

Yes: Erosive esophagitis and acid reflux can cause chest pain, it's probably the reflux causing the throat pain.  I see that you're already taking a potent anti-acid medication (Nexium (esomeprazole)).  I would try to reduce or even avoid NSAIDs for a while since these medications can cause erosion of the esophagus (and ulcers in the stomach). Take the Nexium (esomeprazole) at bedtime, and always eat some food when taking NSAIDs.
