Omeprazole helps 90% of chest pain. lingering pain when i sit/move/lay in certain ways. should i continue omep. for more than 14 days? is this pain b/c of damaged esophagus? if i press hard on my chest in a certain way, i feel the pain again.

Sounds more: like COSTOCHONDRITIS (inflammed cartilages between your breastbone and your ribs! than GERD Ask your PCP if this diagnosis is a possibility...IBUPROFEN/HEAT may be the more effective treatment.... Hope this is hepful Dr Z
