Probably benign: PVCs ( premature ventricular contractions) or APCs (atrial premature contractions) best diagnosed with a 24 hour cardiac monitor performed and reviewed by a board certified cardiologist.

Need further testing: A normal ECG is reassuring, but it's only a 10-second snapshot. For intermittent symptoms like yours, a longer test like a 24-hour Holter is helpful to try to catch an episode. "Irregular heartbeat" is a vague term which can even be normal, though normal variants like sinus arrhythmia usually don't cause symptoms. Avoid unnecessary stimulants like caffeine &amp; follow up with your MD for more testing

: Your irregular best is your own finding? Is it occasional or continuous? In both cases, it needs confirmation by EKG or Holter monitor. Some irregular rhythm can be ok like sinus arrhythmia. If it is other, then your cardiologist will explain the conversion to normal rhythm or medication to keep it controlled. Hope it helps.

Maybe: many ECG changes are called "nonspecific" because they do not mean anything in general outside of the clinical context.  remember - an ECG is technology that is 36 years older than the first Model T car - they are cheap and easy so we do alot of them - often they suggest various things, but rarely definitive - you can get mild differences on the basis of lead placement or what you had for lunch.

May need EKG...: There can be many reason for irregular heart rhythm picked up by BP machine... at your age - suspect extra beats that are benign or sometimes A Fib resulting from excessive alcohol use or sometimes for no good reason... recheck a few times on the BP machine - if you get same readings of irregular rhythm - see your PCP for a EKG
