Polycystic: You have a right ovary that looks like a clump of grapes.  The walls are thickened consistent with likely some type of inflammation. You do not have evidence for solid tumor.  I would be suspicious that you have poly-cystic ovarian syndrome.

Needs evaluation: Complex adnexal masses in postmenopausal women should be evaluated. Her doctor will need to advise if surgical removal is warranted. Family history of ovarian cancer increase risk and one should consider familial cancer screening for carrier status. BRCA 1 and 2 testing can be done.

does echotexture mean solid on a ultrasound?

No: Echotexture, followed by descriptive terms, just tells what the anatomy being evaluated looks like. The main criterion for saying something is solid on ultrasound is the presence of vascular flow within the structure. Cysts, even those with somewhat complex internal fluid, don't show internal flow on color doppler ultrasound. The kicker is not all solid masses show internal flow.

Yes, but unlikely: Most thyroid nodules are benign.  However, if this truly grew from 3.3 to 4.2 cm over the course of 1 month, that would raise the suspicion of thyroid cancer considerably.  You clearly need to have a fine needle biopsy of this nodule performed.

Ultrasound: I am a proponent of following up with the doctor who ordered your study to get an interpretation.  My reasoning is one, they know why it was ordered, they know your clinical story and two they both have access to the radiologist who read it to discuss it and that little thing at the bottom of the report which says clinical impression.

Biopsy: If thyroid hormones are normal, i woulf proceed with an ultrasound guided biopsy. The growth is large so shouldn't be a difficult biopsy. Chance of cancer is approximately 5%.  Low risk but should be evaluated.

Sounds benign: small hypoechoic nodules and well defined may be small cysts, fibroadenoma or even lymph nodes. In the axils most of the time these are lymph nodes. These are common in the breast
