: You did not say why you had the imaging studies, however you obviously have too many fat cells in your liver; and looks like you did not give the full report. Mild dilatation of the ducts may be due to just variability that may not mean something serious however you may want to tune your nutrition and alcohol intake to improve the liver structure. The report did not suggest cancer as it is above.

Alien hand syndrome can come after brain trauma, stroke, or brain infection.  Maybe you could say that is infectious since a brain infection might cause it.  But, infectious from someone who has it to another person, that would require the brain to respond the same.

Both: Both are effective.  The benefit of TIPS is that it is done fairly noninvasively - with a traditional portocaval shunt the operation is bigger.  Most have now gone away from doing surgical shunts in favor of the TIPS procedure.  TIPS can be very effective in treating ascites (fluid) and varices (dilated veins in the esophagus).

However, many with a diagnosis of cfs may have underlying problems like lyme or candida that have not been properly diagnosed.
