what does 'enlarged right inguinal nodes' finding in my c.t. scan mean?

Common finding: Prominent inguinal lymph nodes are commonly seen on ct. Usually they are less than about 2cm in their shortest dimension and elliptical in shape. If normal they are either not palpable or "soft" to palpation. Very round, rubbery/tender, matted nodes can be seen in infection and malignancies such as lymphoma.

24wf had bug bite 4 wks ago on the leg. us findings3 small inguinal nodes with fatty hillas with largest sized 1.1-0,8-04cm. its not getting smaller or bigger. dr wants to do fnb ,since its been 2 months! should he take the whole node out?worry!?

: The doctor who examined you has more information about your health. FNB is likely appropriate. You could watch and wait.
You may feel the nodes every couple of weeks, if any of the lymph glands doubles in size, becomes painful, ulcerates, or other nodes become enlarged, or you develop fever, or lose weight, you should see a doctor. Wish you good health!

Lymph nodes "taste" the lymph for anything bad like bacteria/viruses/cancers, etc. When it detects a problem, it alerts the immune system and your body reacts. They enlarge in response to the inflammation they create when they react. They shrink when all is well.

Likely so:: Generalized lymphadenopathy with reactive nodes &lt; 1 cm is not an entirely unusual finding on CT. If you have no symptoms, and all other tests have been negative to date, it&#x27;s
less likely that you have any ongoing process such as malignancy, infection, autoimmune or systemic disorder like Sarcoidosis. Whatever  caused your glands to be prominent was likely inconsequential and resolved.

swollen inguinal lymph node, and it feels firm, though it is less than 2cm. it's been there for 3 days. not sick. should i be concerned?

Other symptoms?: A rash in that area can cause a swollen lymph node. Do you have any new bruising, fatigue, large lymph nodes anywhere else, fevers, night sweats or unintentional weight loss? If any of these, you need to see doc now. If really not sick (like you said), you could watch this. If it increases in size any more, i would have a doc look at it. Otherwise, lymph nodes can take 1-2 months to go away.

does parotid b cell lymphoma spread to tonsillar fossa (,he had his tonic removed 20 years ago ) and to the inguinal nodes? thats what petscan showed .theres hyperactivity in the inguinal right region and metabolic activity in the tonsillar fossa?

: All lymphomas are systemic diseases with the potential to involve any lymphoid tissue, and also are associated with leukemias

whats an open inguinal lymph node biopsy?

Surgery: This is where a small surgical incision is made and the lymph node is dissected out and removed or at least a portion of the lymph node is cut out and sent for testing and cultures.  This is not as commonly done with inguinal nodes as it is for nodes in other areas.

is it normal to have slightly visible superficial inguinal nodes for years without infection? doc said not to worry.

Agree : You have a wise doctor.  The inguinal nodes drain your perianal area and the pelvis, all with the potential for inflammatory processes.  If the nodes are soft, movable and stable in size and not particularly tender, would ignore.

Usually no: Anything is possible  but these  inguinal lymph nodes may  re related to foot  fungus or other reasons.  You need to discuss  with your physician to see what  evaluation is necessary.
