: Infection ?  E.coli is a normal bowel germ found in human and animal systems. There are strains that are more invasive and worrisome than others but you just have an irritated bowel that will take time to recover after the invasive study. Bananas/breads rice and pasta are good ways to slow a rapid bowel transit by what you eat.

i had a colonoscopy once and recently had diverticolitis, with infection, could i have contracted it from a dirty scope. how do i know they are clean?

Colonoscope: There are standard cleansing techniques employed by all reputable doctors performing these procedures. That having been said, diverticulitis will never be caused by a "dirty" colonoscope.  This is an anatomic abnormality with outpouchings of the wall of the colon which are prone to perforation and infection spreading outside the gut.  Nothing whatever to do with the procedure.

No: colonoscoy is done with sterile instruments so that no new bacterial forms are introduced into the intestine not already there.  The only type of infection occurs if on biopsy, perforation of a small area of colon occurs and a localized abscess with acute pain develops.

Yes: You can do a colonoscopy with a bladder infection. If the colonoscopy is routine and you have symptoms from your bladder infection, why not wait until you feel better?

Stop today: I it was a simple diagnostic study, and you feel fine, you can rest assured that your ok. Even it they performed a biopsy, chances are you'll be just fine. You can't do anything about it anyway, and off you had sifnificant bleeding, you would see blood in the stool. Call your doctor if this happens. Hope this helps!

i was potive for the antibody blood test for crohn's and the colonoscopy showed crohn's but i had just had a severe ecoli infection crohn's misdisgnoses?

See below: Was a biopsy done? If the colonoscopy findings, biopsy and the blood test all say crohns, please follow your doctor's advice to forestall complications. See this site for more info. We all have e coli in our colon.
