Sorry to hear you are feeling poorly. Sounds like you had an abscess drained and possibly your doctors packed the wound to allow it to continue to drain? Some pain is normal after this procedure but is your pain getting worse? Are you doing the dressing changes? Is it still draining pus? If you haven't followed up with your doctor since the drain, I think you should as soon as possible.

Bactrim (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim) should be ok: I would recommend sunscreens and dun ptotective clothing.  Traditionally the tetracyclines and quinolones are more likely to make you sun sensitive   Sulfa usually are ok

Bacterial sensitivit: You seem to have an infected lymph node.  Statistically the most common organism is staph. aureus which is killed by a penicillin class antibiotic.  If your swelling is going down quickly great; if not then you have to get a new antibiotic and get the lymph node incised and drained if possible by a breast surgeon or gynecologist.

Your Choice.: Without knowing all the detail as to the the nature of the growth removed and the method of it's excision, it is difficult to comment on it's return. If it is painful the you need to do something. Either go back to your podiatrist and follow his recommendation or ask your family doctor for a referral to another surgeon.
