Location?: Basal cell carcinomas rarely ever spread. If this is not in sensitive area such as corner of eyelid a 2 month delay will possibly cause a slighter larger scar. If prescription creams are inexpensive, topical 5 floururacil will reduce the basal cell carcinoma, but not eliminate it.

Excision: I see moms surgery in your hx that is an excellent procedure, its important to clear the BC and have the tissue around the BC clear. the wide excision is best topical may not remove all the tissue.

my dermatologist removed a basal cell 6 days ago.  it's infected. i tried to clean out the residue but it won't come out.  can i let it dry and scab?

Slough: In the context of wounds, slough is dead skin tissue that may have a yellow or white appearance. It is important to remove this tissue to prevent infection and promote healing. Infection can lead to death of the surrounding tissues (necrosis), which can be very dangerous to the patient. The technical term for the removal of slough is debridement. See your doctor for treatment.

can i take my stitches out two days early? the skin seems  healed. it's from having a basal cell  carc. removed from my cheek under my eye.

No: There's a reason to keep the sutures in that long. I also prefer taking them out myself so that i can carefully evaluate the surgical site. I'll sometimes prescribe an ointment for a few days.

i had mohs procedure for basal cell, they only had to take one layer no cancer cells were found. i have stitches on top of v center front scalp and this morning i woke up to right above eye brows a little swollen. no pain,what's it from?

: You likely have inflammation of the tissue under the skin from the procedure. This can result in swelling in various areas, including above the eyebrows. If the swelling worsens or causes pain or gets increasingly red, then call the doctor who did the procedure. Good luck!

Skin cancer: Basal cell carcinoma or bcc is the most common type of skin cancer.  There are millions of them each year in the us.  

They are caused by sun exposure and ultraviolet light (tanning beds) and are very common on the face.

It is very rare for them to metastasize or spread to other parts of the body.  They can be easily cured with surgery and other treatments.

Less than 96degrees: normal is typically 97-99, so if your body temperature is dropping and goes to 96 or below we worry about hypothermia setting in
