Fever: You nave have fever, worsening pain, redness around the skin of the anus, and with serious infection the skin feels "crunchy". Any of these should prompt an emergency exam by a qualified physician. If not, consider seeing your primary care doc to take a look anyway. Hope this helps!

Unlikely: Hemorrhoids only very rarely become infected, despite the presence of stool next to an open wound. This is a testament to the efficiency of the immune system in the rectum, specifically the gut-associated lymphoid tissue (galt). The more likely scenario of infection is the case of hemorrhoid strangulation, where the infection sets in when tissue dies. Thankfully, this is rare.

Unlikely: infected, it sounds like the clot (a hemorrhoid is a clotted vein) is resolving !

i have a ext-hemorrhoid. for 2 weeks .  i've been using preperation h for over a week.  now i see a yellow tip on it and yellow pus. is it infected?

Most likely: If you see yellow tip and pus, it is infected, unless the yellow is from the preparation h you've been applying on it. I suggest sitting on a warm bath, put some epsom salt in the bath. This will help calm it down and open the abscess. If it's too painful and does not open by itself, see a doctor to help drain the abscess.

: One does not develop hemorrhoids from  contact with infected toilets. It is highly unlikely to get HIV from public rest room. Best is to avoid them if you are worried.

See a doctor: If you are concerned about an infection, over the counter products will not be effective. If there is pus or infection, see a doctor for proper diagnosis and treatment.

Possible but slight: virsuses can live outside the body for short period of time (like seconds, most article say &lt; 10 seconds, ) but longer in damp conditions. So, very unlikely unless your friend had just used the medication.

i got rectal palpating, and doctor say i dont have hemorrhoid, but probably some tiny cut. the lube she used was in tube instead of one-time use packages, if she use the same pack of lube to check hiv infected patient before me, will i get hiv?

: No-if proper technique is used. The lubricant is placed on a gloved finger from the tube then capped off. hands are washed after exam.

: That commonly happens to everybody who has hemorrhoids but most do not have anal infection.
