can you please tell me why fatty food makes gastritis/indigestion worse?

Fat and acid: Fat delays stomach emptying and causes the stomach to make more acid to help digestion. The increase in stomach acid can irritate an area of the stomach that is already irritated ( gastritis).

Sweating: Digestion does change the nervous system response, so some foods, fatty or spicy may cause change in perspiration.

Possibly: Fatty foods increase your stomach acidity.  Other consideration is gallstones.

any dairy = reflux/heartburn. extreme fatty food = no heartburn, no reflux. no lactose milk = acid reflux too. what causes reflux then ? thank you.

Milk protein Allergy: If the reflux is triggered by both lactose containing and lactose free milk, then you may have milk protein allergy. An allergic reaction releases histamine. Histamine in the stomach will increase acid production and cause stomach contractions which will push the acid up the esophagus.   Try avoiding cows milk products and see if it helps.

i tend to burp quite a lot after every meal and feel bloated. the indigestion is especially bad with fatty foods. no pain.is this a cause for concern?

Digestion issues: Not a cause for concern but, sounds like digestive issues. Poor diets can lead to problems with proper acid production. The food passes into the small intestines with poor breakdown and produces more gas which in turn causes the bloating and flatulance. I would suggest a meal time digestive aid such as papaya or betaine HCL to see if the helps. Foods that need less breakdown can also help. FRESH!

Other possibilities: The HIDA scan rules out gallbladder dysfunction and chronic cholecystitis but there could be other possible explanations for your symptoms which warrant further evaluation,

Anxiety shuts down: processes we don't need for emergency survival like digestion.  Please see your doc to rule out medical conditions.  Use a book called "The Relaxation Response" by Herbert Benson to shut down your fight/flight/freeze response.  Peace and good health.

How long? See MD: Could be gall bladder attack (acute cholecystitis): stone gets stuck trying to pass out of gallbladder; pain, sometimes radiating to back, often with vomiting. If with fever, datk urine, jaundice-stone in common bile duct and infection. Could be ulcer related, bile duct issues, including tumors (less likely); could be irritable bowel, other bowel issues.  Need to see a doc asap.

You may be right: Nausea is a non specific symptom and not always associated with GI disease. Many of the symptoms you describe sound like ibs but ibs is a disease of exclusion. You should see your doctor to make sure there is no other explanation.
