Possibly: yes BUT DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES INCREASE THE DOSE ON YOUR OWN...Ask the prescribing  HEALTH PROFESSIONAL if a raise in dosage OR/AND another medication is the next "step"!

Maybe, maybe nothing: Some people use a daily dose of  as high as 30mg/day to have adequate response. With higher dose, you may experience some nausea/jitteriness, headaches, somnolence, irritabilty, cramping/diarrhea etc...Or you may not have any at all.  If it is recommended by your doc to do so, follow your doc advice. I would not do it if u were not advised such. Consult doc. Good luck.

i have been having severe anxiety for about 12 hours and ikeep puking. also, i'm in the process of increasing the dosage of lexapro (escitalopram). is there any correlation between the two?

Yes, could be: Lexapro (escitalopram) has GI side effects including nausea -- can be vomiting also.  Please contact your doctor about this. If you're not also drinking alcohol or adding other medicines at same time, your symptoms could certainly relate to lexapro (escitalopram).  You may need to hold at your current dose, or go up more slowly -- your doctor can help you discern.  Good luck.

i have been on lexapro 5mg for five weeks and will be increasing my dose to 7.5 because my anxiety is still sticking around. should i feel the same on-boarding side effects i did when i started the 5mg? or has my body adjusted to this foreign chemica?

: In general, effect as well as side effect are stronger with a higher dose.

i decreased my lexapro dose from 10mg to 5mg on 3/19 ... the 10mg was just too much for me. i'm wondering if i need to give the new 5mg dosage 6-8 weeks to fully work just like you have to do with an increase?

: It is curious why the 10 mg was too more for you. If it was effective then it likely was the correct dose. You probably have been on the 5 mg long enough to see if it is effective for you. It sounds not. You could start by increasing to 7.5 mg daily to see if that is of good benefit and follow-up with your doctor.

Hello. : Hello. It is safe to stop once tapered down to 5 mg of lexapro (escitalopram). However, the concern is that normally tapering a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor is done under a medical provider's supervision. I am wondering why you haven't asked your provider.

CBT Therapy: All research agrees that therapy optimizes the effects of medication. For some it allows you to cut dosage or stop earlier. Do discuss this all w/ your Dr (very wise of you!) but I see little reason to think that a higher dose will impact severe GAD w/o Tx. You need to learn skills to avoid, reduce and manage anxiety. Best!

Lexapro (escitalopram) dose for OCD: lexapro, (escitalopram) an SSRI, is used to treat several anxiety disorders. sounds like ur doc has prescribed it for OCD (obesesive compulsive d/o),for which it is FDA approved. OCD may require hier doses of medication. However, every patient is different. There is no one best dose for every pt. The best dose for u, is the dose that u &amp; ur doc find most effective with the fewest side effects.

Depends: That depends on what the side effects are. If you have GI upset- consider taking probiotics or take it with food.  If you have insomnia - then take it in am.  If you are experiencing medication related anxiety - then consider adding in deep breathing exercized. Please let your doctor know.  Blood levels may be higher the second time around.
