Days to weeks: The skin surface heals in about a week. The deeper & more important tissue layers takes about 6 weeks to reach a good strength before you can do all regular activitues. The cosmetic appearance of the scar will continue to heal for months after that.

How it looks: Usually a surgical site will have slowly decreasing pain, no excess swelling, and no excess redness or drainage. There will normally be mild swelling and possibly slight bruising that will be temporary. Increasing redness and increasing pain may not be a good sign.

NO. call the surgeon: Pain at an incision site is never good.  Get it checked out soon.

: Surgical wounds that are not healing should be taken to the attention of the operating surgeon.  The location and reason for the surgery are important to know before suggesting anything more than soap and water.

incision opened in one area doesn't seem to be healing too quickly ?

See your surgeon for: an examination. He might need to take a swab to ensure, what if any infection is responsible for the delayed healing. It might be a deep suture that got infected.
I recommend all my patients to report any healing problems to my office and my nurses to do all the dressing changes, to ensure proper healing.

If it does not hurt: It is doing well.

got a pacemaker incision was healing normal. noticed a blister on end of incision 4-6 weeks out. now 8 weeks out & it's still there. is this normal?

Bubble: If it doesn't hurt and is not changing it may be a suture that is irritating your skin.  Check with the doctor who placed the pacemaker but without the above symptoms should not be serious.

Maybe not related...: ...but if there is drainage, poor wound closure, redness and/or local tenderness, or pain as significant and progressive as you describe, then please ask your surgeon to take a re-look at the site.

5-7 days: Discomfort of the incised tissue is usually gone 5-7 days and the socket is covered over by 2-3 weeks.
