No best: There is no established best implant.  There are many implants from a variety of different companies that have shown 95% excellent results lasting for 30 years or more.  The question is what implant has your surgeon had the most success with?  First, feel comfortable with your surgeon.  Then inquire into the implants he uses, and just make sure he isn't using something for the first time on you.

The : The majority of implants are attached using bone cement.  This is the common term for polymethylmethacrylate (pmma), which is a plastic also used in plexiglass or lucite.  At the time of implantation, the surgeon mixes a small amount of liquid with a powdered form of pmma.  This becomes a doughy paste which hardens within 12 minutes to form a solid bond between the metal of the implant and the underlying bone.

Tooth Extraction: It is impossible to tell how far your opposing molar will super-erupt. Obviously your teeth will shift. Is healthcare financing an option? Discuss all avenues with your dentist.

i had sex two days after my nexplanon replacement, and i'm worried if i can get prego or if the implants effective. am i protected? or am i doomed?

Accepted Answer

: Per the CDC, unless you are in the middle of your menstrual cycle, then you are not protected from pregnancy for up to 7 days after insertion of Nexplanon. So if you are not on your cycle, then I would assume that you are not protected from pregnancy. I would advise you to discuss emergency contraception with a doctor, which can significantly reduce risk of pregnancy 48hr after intercourse.

implanon removal required and replacement with a new implant is required. where can i do this i.e. which discovery gp will cover this procedure ?

Implanon insertion: Implanon removal and insertion is usually done as an office procedure. Ask your gyn provider for a referral if he/she does not do this.  Long term use of progestin-like birth control is not recommended.

Alternate available: Hydrocortisone 1%/iodoquinol 1% cream is available without aloe vera for 25-145 dollars US that should work as well for a 28g tube vs 2500 for 48g of Alcortin A..  You can always add aloe vera topically at the time of application.  Alcortin A was judged possibly effective by the US FDA.

is it possible to have total knee replacement after a partial implant?

Yes: What u will have is called a revision arthroplasty. The old uni will b removed and a complete knee will b put in its place. I would look 4 a fellowship trained orhto guy who deals with tha & revisions. It's a specialty within the field of orthopedic surgery. They spend a year or more to take care of tha, both vergin and revision.
