No single test: Even in persons with multiple family members with cancer, there is not a single genetic test that can pick up different cancers.  There are specific tests for some cancers, e.g., colon cancer.  Almost all genetic tests require expert consultation.

what's are the different symptoms between i.c. and bladder cancer? they have similar symptoms, what sets them apart in regards to symptoms? thank you!

Get it checked: Your physician isn't going to make the call of either interstitial cystitis or bladder cancer without performing cystoscopy. Your question is moot. I would urge you to get this resolved as quickly as you can in the office of a competent urologist.

recently had cancer removed and now set to have chemo.  if all the cancer was removed how many  times would i have to have treatment?

Depends: On the type of cancer, stage, and other factors.  Talk to your doctor.  Chemo is given because even if all the cancer the surgeon could "see" was removed there still can be a high chance of microscopic cancer cells being present somewhere in the body.  The only way to tell for certain no cells are left is "the test of time, " meaning the cancer does not recur.

dr. just informed me i have "lazy marrow"; has set up an appt. with hemotologist.  what, most likely, is this all about?  lots saying i got cancer!

Not sure: Lazy marrow is not a medical term .
I'm guessing your marrow isn't producing something? Or producing less of something?

It would more likely: Be an infection. Don't know if you have cancer risk factors. See your physician if the sore throat is not improving. F you have a significantly sore throat w swollen tonsils / lymph nodes – see your medical provider ; get a strep throat test ; culture.

i use a wireless head set 7-8 hours a day 5 days a week and have for several years.  is that related to me developing tongue cancer?

Likely not: All research so far regarding wireless signals has failed to show any link between them and brain tumors.  The main causes of tongue cancer are smoking, alcohol use, genetics and human papillomavirus infection.

Agree with doc.: This could be a serrious problem. Pet wwould be ok. May need help of pulmonologist or another doc to get a piece of tissue (biopsy) from the mass. Ask about side effects of biopsy. Do it soon.

if a person has small cell cancer in this lung what are the chances of them getting it all. the cancer is 9.5/3.2cm's? also there is an air pocket above it. he has a hard time breathing and has to set up to sleep.

Small : Small cell lung cancer is not usually treated with surgery because by the time it is found it is too large to get fully resected. For a cancer that is 9.5 x 3.2 cm the treatment would consist of either chemotherapy alone or chemotherapy in combination with radiation depending on different factors. Talk to your medical oncologist to see what option would be best for you or your family member. dr., i like to know the time frame for my mom, 84, primary liver cancer, dr. set up hospice for her, how much time does she have left in an average.

Hard to say.: Need to take a few things into consideration…  what is her underlying health status?  What is the total tumor burden?  How much liver function is remaining?   Has she had any complications to date?  Able to eat? "hospice" means less than 6 months.  If she has been losing a good deal of weight i would bet she has much less than that.
