is it unsafe for everyone in my bldg if this new guy that just moved in smokes while on oxygen,he might take it off if the manager is around,ive never smoked but im worried hes going to start a fire cause of it,ive told the apt manager,any suggestion?

: This is very dangerous as the oxygen is flammable. It could cause a fire that could burn the inside of the smoker’s airways as well as ignite something in his room and cause a fire in the building. His oxygen therapy should be removed if he is going to continue to smoke for the safety of everyone. Perhaps the landlord can find out what oxygen company is supplying the oxygen so it can be removed.

Accepted Answer

Not possible: If the oxygen level in at 70% (whether pO2 or O2 sat), the person cannot be healthy.  Perhaps the problem is with the instrument measuring it.

Oxygen sat: This is because you are filling your lungs with THC and other chemicals instead of oxygen.

As you note - sinus: Sinus is the likely culprit. Fortunately you are getting an excellent level of oxygen. Also, good for you that you don't smoke. Again - your already known sinus condition is the probable cause and allergies definitely make it worse yet. Successful treatment for that is not always possible, but you might get opinions. Good luck with a resolution. Breath meditation, accupuncture or yoga may help.

: Symptoms mimic acute urinary tract infection, but also could be from Covid.  See your gyn physician for clean catch urine and culture, and obtain a PCR test for Covid, and quarantine for at least 10 days, along with close contacts.

Most likely safe: Oxygen use in smokers is ok, where the problem is--&gt; dont ever use oxygen and light up.  You will burn you face/nasal cavity as oxygen is highly flammable and should never be around an open flame.

Go to ER: It is NOT normal for anybody regardless of having surgery or not to have oxygen saturation in their blood that low .you need to go to the ER right away for proper evaluation and treatment. It could be dangerous life threatening condition so do not ignore it and GO

can i just take "hit" of oxygen when i need it?

No: A 'hit' of oxygen will  do nothing for you if in fact your body needs oxygen. Once a condition has caused lung damage or heart damage to the point where supplemental oxygen is needed, then the oxygen is needed more or less all the time. Sometimes there is a temporary need for oxygen, such as with in pneumonia, but this requires oxygen until the infection clears.

Depends greatly: this depends greatly on the reason why the oxygen saturations are in the 70s.
