Im gonadotropins: In addition to clomid, metformin and other oral PCOS treatments, there are injectable gonadotropins.  There are newer IUDs that can readily be removed if they cause any problems.  DIscuss with your Gyn.

can you get hiv when getting a shot if the doc uses the same gloves that she used for a previous patient?

Accepted Answer

Low risk: Needles are never reused. Gloves are barriers to prevent contact with blood and other secretions. You are at very low risk to get HIV from the doctors gloves. Feel good!

my doctor has a sign in his office, telling patient to not fast before any blood work, is this something new? for years we fast to get accurate readings, now all of a sudden we don't. is this so they can find more wrong with you?

: It depends on what test is done. Only a few -- like blood sugar (checking for diabetes) and lipid profile (cholesterol etc) -- are affected by food intake. Fasting or not makes no difference at all for most blood and urine tests.

Yes: Clomid (clomiphene) is the first drug we try in pco patients who are not ovulating.  Your doctor will try different doses. If Clomid (clomiphene) is unsuccessful  there are other medications to help you ovulate.

MG?: By mg, could you mean myasthenia gravis? A neurologist is a medical specialist who can help with this condition, if that is what you mean by mg.

who owns the a patients xrays and should they have to pay to get copy?

Accepted Answer

Doctors: The doctor owns all patient records including xrays. Patients have the right to a copy of any part of the record with written request. The doctor may charge a nominal fee to copy the records and/or mail them to another office. Digital xrays can be emailed without charging a fee.

: Motivation is the main driver for recovery and patients that are able to make lifestyle changes, team up with friends and relatives that are trying to help them do in general better than the ones simply relying on pills to treat their cravings.

No. Yes.: The practice of medicine is an art. Most aspects of the practice should be "up for interpretation." If the human "art" part of medicine is removed and replaced by mere clinical criteria... that probably will not be a good day.
