Nonspecific: It could mean you are close to your period or that the lining has not been fully shed with your periods.  Certain medications can cause this as well as various abnormal growths.  It really needs to be evaluated in the context of your particular situation.

Endometrium: The normal menstrual cycle is associated with an increasing thick lining prior to your period.  You have a period because this lining sloughs off in a cyclic fashion each month.

Not really: It shouldn't be, jillp.  The bigger question is why you needed Prometrium (micronized progesterone) in the first place.  Look up estrogen dominance and see if the symptoms coincide with yours.  Most women who have a thick lining have too much estrogen.  Consider cleaning your diet, more greens, more fiber, lose weight if you need to so that you don't have to take prometrium (micronized progesterone).  Hope this helps.

Ultrasound results?: If this report were for a pelvic ultrasound, it could mean several things.  It would also be interpreted in the context of what symptoms are occurring (irregular bleeding, pain, ?).  The endometrial lining varies in thickness during the menstrual cycle, and is typically thickest right before a menstrual period (day 25).  A closed cervix is a normal finding.

for 24 yo wife, there is no mandate for period every month - if everything ok.  Usualy, gyn will give a course of progesterone (eg Provera = medroxyprogesterone) which should cause maturation and sloughing of the uterine lining = menstruation.  In many cases normal, spontaneous periods may ensue.  If not then a endocrine w/u is in order to determine cause of amennorhea (lack of periods)

Probably a clot: When you see "thick tissue" in your menstrual flow, it is likely a blood clot. If you are having a miscarriage, it could be fetal tissue, but that is not as common as it just being a clot.  When women bleed very heavy, it is very common to have clotted blood in the flow.

Not a real period: First, did you rule out pregnancy? It's possible that you had 2 days of bleeding but that it was not a normal cycle. You normally menstruate 14 days after ovulation and completely shed your lining. If you don't ovulate, the lining gets thicker and thicker and more disorganized, and eventually some will drift out by accident. But without the proper hormonal trigger the entire lining doesn't shed.

Yes and No: Progesterone (progestins) is a hormone that will temporarily stabilize the lining in certain patients (people who do not ovulate regularly and therefore experience irregular but potentially heavy menses) to prevent or slow down uncontrolled, heavy bleeding.  Progestins will allow bleeding to occur but in a controlled, less-of-a-flow fashion with shorter duration.

i had 150mg progestin shot for two times and was on prgestin pills. but passed very thick endo lining in my period. why did it happen after progestin?

Progesterone: Promotes the growth of the endometrial lining during the luteal or 2nd phase of the menstrual cycle, thus the heavy bleeding during menses. It's normal. Don't worry, be happy! god bless you!
