A member asked:

Strong menstrual pain and a thick tissue (possibly the lining?) appearing in period. is this normal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Probably a clot: When you see "thick tissue" in your menstrual flow, it is likely a blood clot. If you are having a miscarriage, it could be fetal tissue, but that is not as common as it just being a clot. When women bleed very heavy, it is very common to have clotted blood in the flow.
