if i leave a splinter in my finger will it eventually push itself out so i can get to it with tweezers?

Maybe: I would be cautious.  A splinter can cause serious infeciton even if you think it is minor.  If you cannot easily prick the splinter out with a sterile needle after a good prep of the area with soap and water and perhaps some alcohol, then you should seek help from someone qualified to assiste your.  If a splinter "festers" it does come to the surface.  The body will try to expel it.

i have a tiny splinter in my finger from a pencil. it's fully under skin and i can't get it out with needle or tweezers. can i leave it? what do i do?

See below: You may watch and wait. If the site becomes red, swollen, painful, there is discharge, there are red streaks in the skin leading from the site, or the lymph glands in your arm pit get enlarged, see a doctor.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

any tips on how to get this splinter out of my finger. it hurts and i keep squeezing and my tweezers don't work because i can't bring it to surface.

Accepted Answer

Ouch!: Sometimes just leaving it alone will do the trick.  However, if you can't wait a sharp small incision over the site will often  allow the splinter a way out.  Also could soak finger in epsom salts. This creates an osmotic gradient which might help.  Keep an eye out for infection - redness, swelling, warmth, pain, red streaks and more than a little discharge.  If this occurs - game over - see doc.

finger against wood and got many little splinters and sterilized tweezers to take them out, couldn't get them. should i worry for serious infection?

Accepted Answer

You need to watch: out for symptoms and signs of infection called cellulitis/ abscess.  This includes worsening pain, swelling, redness, thick white or discolored drainage, or heat in the area.  See a healthcare provider right away if these things happen.

why did i get a cut on my finger when i didnt cut myself? ive had that happen before when i get cuts out of nowhere, i do have kidney issues and i might also have liver issues,it showed up on blood work but when my doctor checked it it was normal?

: Your doctor is right. There's nothing unusual or abnormal about this. Everybody sometimes experiences cuts they don't notice at the time, usually when they are busy or distracted at the time. It doesn't suggest any kind of health problem.

small wood splinter in index finger. i removed with tweezers and washed hands with warm water and soap and used alcohol. last tdap was 5 years ago. do i need to get atado booster or go to urgent care?

: Not particularly. For minor exposures like this the past booster should protect you for 10 yrs. If you have your hands in soil a lot for any reason I would consider a booster more often.

Be seen: It could be from fatty liver.  See your physician for an exam and diagnosis.

Liver: Your liver may not be enlaged. It can be forced down by gravity when you lie down.

: Various medical disorders are associated with psoriasis and include cardiovascular disease, autoimmune disease,especially arthritis, cancer and  metabolic disorders. I'm not familiar with the liver disease connection. I've had a few psoriasis patients who developed a fib late.Even though your skin eruptions have cleared you should get medical checkups and follow a healthy diet &amp; lifestyle

popped a big blackhead on my nose .used a needle b4 school then tweezers and my finger.it bled. and its red and its been a day is it infected?

Accepted Answer

Be kind to your skin: Manipulating your skin can certainly introduce infection.  Or just a lot of irritation.  Wash the area with soap and water and pat dry.  Keep your hands away from the area.   The redness should subside in a day or two.  Please don't abuse comedones - you can cause infections and scarring.
