UNLIKELY: A missed period (amenorrhea) is usually caused by pregnancy--so this needs to be ruled out first. Other causes incude being underweight (as in heavy duty exercise). Kidney stones are caused by dehydration, excess calcium (too many tums-antacids) etc..  So the 2 problems probably not related.

to your knowledge has a combo 4 gen hiv test ever miss an infection if tested after the window period for the test? i find all kinds of articles of delayed antibody but the combo always detected it are there any that was missed?

Accepted Answer

: To my knowledge, this has never happened beyond 45 days after exposure. The most likely potential exception is when anti-HIV drugs are taken to prevent infection (post exposure prophylaxis). If PEP doesn't work, the window period is delayed until 6 weeks after completing treatment.

Unlikely: If anything an infection might make you have spotting between periods but is unlikely to cause you to miss a cycle.

: Yes, all strains for all practical purposes. And by the way, the VB variant isn't new. It has only now been recognized as different, but it has been circulating for decades, and it is equally detectable by all standard tests.

Lots of things: There are many reasons why women miss their period.  Pregnancy should be ruled out first.  Other potential causes include anovulation (no egg release), hormonal dysfunction, eating disorders, rigorous exercise, stress, thyroid or other hormonal dysfunction, systemic diseases (lupus, kidney disease, thyroid disease), and pcos to name a few. You should be evaluated by your doctor.

Not if negative : Home pregnancy tests are very accurate. They are the same tests used in a doctors office. They can detect a pregnancy 7-10 days after conception.   If you doubt the result you can repeat it in 1-2 days. If you were pregnant the hormone level would rise enough for detection.

i had a miss period on august 21 then on sept 1st i had my period lasted 3 days which isn't normal was very light not enough to full a pad are tampon i could wear a pantyliner i even had to wipe to see it..not sure why?

: Irregular menstrual periods are common. The fluctuations of estrogen and progesterone can be easily affected by stress, weight gain/loss, thyroid problems, and uterine issues such as adenomyosis or fibroids. If the symptoms persist, talk to your Dr about your irregular periods and what testing can be done to determine the cause.

Pregnancy test?: Irregular periods are one of the most common problems obgyns treat. If this is one time problem it usually resolves on its own. If this is a recurring problem you should be evaluated. Infections &amp;  hormonal changes can cause spotting. If there is a concern for pregnancy then do  a home pregnancy test .  There are many options available to help regulate the menstrual cycle. Schedule a visit.

i know the period that u get while on bc pills is more withdraw bleeding and was wondering that if u did get prg on pills would you still miss period?

Accepted Answer

Birth control pills: Yes - if you become pregnant while using the pill, most women will still miss their period/withdrawal bleed. If you are taking the placebo pills and not getting a period, you should take a pregnancy test.

Accepted Answer

Missed perios: You probably are pregnant.  Would try to repeat pregnancy tests as the tests do not become positive until about 12 days after conception.   Continue to monitor yourself, and ask another question if you are not pregnant.
