Yes, all strains for all practical purposes. And by the way, the VB variant isn't new. It has only now been recognized as different, but it has been circulating for decades, and it is equally detectable by all standard tests.

I am worried about rare strains of HIV like type O. I got a fourth generation HIV 1 and 2 antibody/antigen in the US fro Quest diagnostic and am worried the test missed these strains. There seems to be conflicting answers. This makes me anxious?
