The standard tests are reliable any time more than 4-5 days after exposure.

Confusing question: I suppose the question is about missing a throat infection with gonorrhea or chlamydia. The positive strep test does indicate that strep is present. If you did not tell the doc you might have been exposed to these germs through oral contact, the specialized testing would not have been done to see if they were also present. The simple strep test does not look for the additional agents.

Usually 3-4 weeks: It is generally recommended to retest in 3-4 weeks after treatment but it is quite likely that testing earlier would also be reliable. It can take 1-3 weeks for signs of infection to show after initial exposure, so a negative test at 3 weeks would be confirm cure.  Be sure to use first voided urine (if doing urine testing)  as diluted urine can give false negative tests results.

Re take if...: Re take  the testing if you were re-exposed to someone again who is at risk or you were recently treated for one of the above STD's and a negative result is in order to know that the treatment was effective. HIV should be retested again 6 months after the last negative test or  at risk exposure to ensure negativity.
