if ct results are abnormal will the ordering dr be notified right away?

Sometimes...: It depends on the nature of the abnormality and no urgent the reading radiologist thinks the problem is. There are many varieties of abnormal, and many just need a routine follow up, sometimes another study in 6 months or so...So  unless the radiologist thinks it is an emergency, the ordering doctor may not my informed right away.

i had a ct scan 10 years ago due to headaches. it came back abnormal. it said a focal, well circumscribed area of low density is identified within the region of corpus. i did an mri after that and the results were normal. should i be worried?

MRI more sensitive.: The results of a brain MRI are more conclusive than the results of a CT scan, so if the MRI reading was correct, then you would have little to worry about.

It means: the kidneys enhance with the injected contrast in a normal fashion(they enhance equally)

Radiologist: The physician or gynecologist who ordered the tests should sit down with the radiologist who interpreted the images and describe the patient's symptoms. The radiologist will give a list of possibilities and may recommend further studies to be done or a referral to another specialist for an opinion. Such collaboration leads to the best care for the patient.

what could a shadow on brain ct mean? i got a ct and the results were "shadow, irregular low density area on the frontal left lobe." (i have to wait a week to get my mri, so i'm wondering if it's likely serious. i don't have any symptoms.?

: That is an unusual word to describe a finding in a brain CT. It may be a  transcription mistake or even a scan artifact, and you should ask  your Doctor that ordered the test for further explanation.  There is not much to do immediately, and  you should wait until you get the MRI results before worrying too much.

Maybe need HPV test: You have an abnormal PAP test meaning possible precancerous lesion; the pathologist will automatically test your sample fo HPV

dr. has gotten my results of ct abd/pelvis w/wo contrast. message said nothing urgent found. what are examples of urgent vs non urgent results?

Ct readings: Urgent are things that can kill you if you don't do something quickly, like a big aneurysm, a large stone obstructing the kidneys... Non urgent are things that can wait until you show up to the clinic for discussion.
