Bites?: How do you know they are "bites"? Confined to the legs and persisting 2 months suggests stasis dermatitis, possibly eczema. Best advise is to see a dermatologist.

DERMATITIS: Heat rash are usually in the body, fine, itchy  and flaky. Eczematoid rash are localized in any part of the body, cubital, popliteal, face and characterized by your description. It responds to moisturizer or steroid cream.

In addition to "seeing" and "feeling" the rash, additional tools to identify the rash include performing a biopsy of the rash, or performing a culture (if we suspect an infectious cause.)  best to see your family doctor, internist or dermatologist.

Fungal rash?: Most certain ways to id fungus are to have doc take a scraping, add potassium hydroxide (koh), & look at specimen under microscope for fungal elements or have doc take specimen for culture (takes about a week for most to grow). Or you can try empiric therapy: use otc antifungal like Lamisil (terbinafine) 2-3 times a day for at least a week. If rash still there or getting worse, see doc.

You should see a doctor ASAP for diagnosis because they are treatable but need to start treatment early in course. The diagnosis is paramount for future treatment and to prevent spread to partner and especially regarding implications of herpes and future pregnancy.
