See details: This type of pain in a 28 year ago is often secondary to patellar tendinitis. I would see an orthopedist for a diagnosis. Often appropriate exercises can produce good benefit. If ther meantime you can ice the knees after running or switch to a low impact aerobic activity such as cycling.

Doubtful: There is a very rare incidence of rash but that doesn't sound like what you're describing.

Not recommended: It's always best to use medications as prescribed. Xanax (alprazolam) is addicting. So is Percocet (oxycodone + acetaminophen). Both can also cause confusion &amp; increase risk of falls. When used together, risk increases dramatically. So does death rate. Talk to your Family Doc about your insomnia. Consider OTC options. Research sleep hygiene. And avoid sedative-hypnotics like Ambien (zolpidem).

i'm unable to get a good nights sleep and when  i wake up, the first thing i have to do is throw up. could this be caused by sinus drainage?

Very much so: If you already notice during the day you have significant sinus symptoms of congestion, difficult with nasal breathing, post nasal drip.  When you sleep your post nasal drip may "pool" significantly in the back of the throat so that when you arise in the AM it stimulates your gag reflex.  Also significant sinus disease can alter sleep quality related to breathing disturbances.

Good sleep: To get a good sleep at night:
1- be sure of good sleep hygiene, no tv in 
    bed room, no eating or drinking in bed, no
    texting or cell phone calls in bed
 2- go to bed every day at fixed time.
 3- get enough hrs of sleep you 
     need according to your age.
 4- if you are unable to fall asleep in 20 
     minutes,  get up, leave the bed and do 
     what ever is boarig until you feel sleepy.

Sleep hygiene.: To reset your sleep clock, go to bed at the same time every night, awaken at the same time every morning, don't nap during the day, use the bed for sleeping (not eating, TV watching, reading, etc), if you awaken during the night, stay in bed until your determined awakening time.

: Sleep comes in various stages &amp; with deep sleep being the most effective in restoring vigor. If your "time" asleep is pretty normal but you are not restored, it suggests you are not entering deep sleep stages. I would visit your doc with this in mind. An exam may reveal some issues or a sleep study may help identify it. Sleep disturbances are one of the most under diagnosed problems in health.
