Can be: Some swelling after an injury or surgery is common. It is however important to control the swelling which will help with movement of the fingers. Elevation icing and the motion can be used. If this does not help therapists can sometimes be needed to help with the swelling.

Inflammation: Sounds like inflammation. Must search for cause. Rule out food sensitivity. About 10 percent of population can be sensitive to nightshades, about 30-40 percent can be sensitive to gluten and casein. Consider below: Color change in the fingers may represent a raynaud's phenomenon, but your swelling and pain could also be associated with an inflammatory joint problem.  Could consider a complex regional pain syndrome.  Does not fit nerve compression disorder description.  Have you seen a rheumatologist?

Probably: Depends somewhat upon the degree of swelling.  But it is not uncommon for patients who have that type of injury, surgery, and then postoperative immobilization to have some degree of swelling and stiffness 2 months postop.  Make sure you follow up with your surgeon.

Yes it is: Yes it takes 4-6 weeks for soft tissue to heal and hence the need to immobilize.
