Yes: Congratulations on the successful surgery. Marijuana is a relatively benign herb that may help relieve your post-operative discomfort. I know of no evidence it will impair your recovery. It should be safe to use either by smoking or in oral forms, whichever you prefer.

following three days of extremely tight bracing post-acl surgery i got foot drop/peroneal nerve palsy (2 months ago). is this condition be permanent?

Need EMG : You should have an EMG to assess the degree of nerve injury.  This can also be used in the months following to determine if the nerve is recovering.

m three months out of acl reconstruction surgery and bi menisci repair , i have only 100 degree of flexion and i haven't got the full extension yet?

Hopefully that: is better than when you started. Most of the benefits would be there by 3 months, AND, even without having a problem and surgery, people can improve their mobility, strength and flexibility over time with consistent physical activity. 
Signs of problems would be deformity, swelling, things getting worse not better over time, or signs of infection.

Consult Surgeon: I am sure that you realize none of us here can give you permission to smoke anything prior to or post surgery. This approval has to come from the professional taking on the responsibility to operate and see you through healing.

how long after acl surgery should the pain and soreness start to improve? is it normal to still have alot of pain 3 days post surgery?

Accepted Answer

To some extent: Pain after surgery varies based upon many factors.  Most patients with acl reconstruction are doing well within 7-14 days as things like swelling resolve.  If your pain is extreme, I would not hesitate to be seen immediately.  Also, simple things like using ice, elevating the leg, and making sure the bandage is not too tight can help with pain as well.

can i miss my period after having an acl reconstruction? i had surgery on a wed, period was due the following sun but never arrived. now 5 days late.

Sure can!: Any major stress, like surgery, or a new drug (like anesthesia) can affect the menstrual cycle.  However, be sure to check for pregnancy, as that it the most common cause of a missed period in a sexually active, fertile female. If you miss another period or you are pregnant see your doc.

my roomate had acl surgery 2 weeks ago and has developed a bad rash on her leg for the past 4 days.  it is getting worse and very itchy.

Allergy?: Sounds like some type of allergy. Might be to the prep material, brace, medication, padding. Doubt that it is related to anything implanted for the surgery. Show it to your doc.

Yes!!!: You should be walking the day after your acl surgery.  The best outcomes come with starting an advanced rehab protocol which focuses on regain full range of motion early and then strength.

I would tell doctor: You don't want to have developed a deep venous thrombosis (dvt).   You need to discuss with the doctor who did the surgery.

after an acl surgery, is it out of the question to go to a concert 4 days later?

Accepted Answer

Not really: This depends more on the type of acl reconstruction and your mobility afterwards. Autograft (your own tendon) acls are typically more painful and affect your mobility afterwards. On the other hand, I have patients that are able to function quite well 4-5 days after surgery. Ask your surgeon for a better estimate!
