i keep getting scabs in my nose. could this be due to allergies?

Scabs in nose: Scabs occur as the body tries to heal from an intense inflammatory response. While these are sometimes seen with allergies, they may be more common due to infection or trauma inside the lining of the nose. Rarely, scabs may signify an underlying autoimmune condition such as wegener’s granulomatosis where nasal blood vessels become chronically inflamed. A biopsy may be helpful to determine a cause.

i guess due to my allergies i rub my nose 2hard & i think i might have bruised something & i think i have a scab in my nose. its very irritating wsid?

Control the itch: It would appears that the itching is the primary cause.  The first step may be an otc antihistamine. If this didn't help. See your doctor to get something stronger.

Unlikely: The inflammation of allergies can cause the lining of the nose to swell and secrete mucus, but the outward appearance of the nose should not change.  However, enlarging nasal polyps can cause mild shape changes.  With polyps that size, a person's sense of smell would be severely impaired.  An ENT would be a useful resource.

i get very frequent and often large nose scabs(about 5 times a day)and i physically cant  help but pick them out each time.my inner septum is deeper than it should be and im just wondering if theres another solution besides dont pick (no coke use?

: This needs to be evaluated. My question to myself is this more than a scab and/or do you have an obsessive disorder. See a doctor

Pills or sprays: You can try an over the counter antihistamine pill which you can take once a day.  If you want short-term relief, you can use oxymetazoline nasal spray for a maximum of 3 days.  If you use it longer,  you will run the risk of rebound congestion.  You can see your doctor who can also prescribe steroid nasal sprays, antihistamine nasal sprays, and allergy pills.  Saline irrigation may be helpful.

i keep sniffing rapidly and i have allergies.  this happens mostly when i get anxious or nervous.  right now my nose is itchy. what do u suggest?

Rhinitis: can be allergic or non allergic, emotions would aggravate the symptoms, meanwhile use an OTC antihistaminic as cetirizine or loratadine or fexofenadine, regularly, don't drive if it makes you drowsy, and read the labels, saline nasal wash twice a day, and schedule an appointment with an allergist to sort it out, check aaaai.org or acaai.org for an allergist in your area, good luck

i have little scabs inside my nose that don't hurt when i touch them, but could they be cold sores? i don't get them there but have blown my nose a lot

Nasal Vestibulitis: Crusting in nostrils where nasal hairs are located is common and can be treated with topical antibiotic ointment. Blowing your nose a lot with tissue papers can  cause direct irritation to skin and is not recommended. See an ENT doctor!

my nose won't stop running like a faucet. i've tried multiple allergy pills to no avail. please help me get my nose to stop running. ?

See Allergist: You need to be seen by an Allergist as you are likely suffering from chronic rhinitis and need further testing and evaluation. Skin or blood testing can be performed to see what you are allergic to and can assist in avoidance measures. Daily steroid sprays can be helpful for allergic rhinitis. Ipratropium bromide can be great for drying out nose for persistent dripping/running.

Possibly: Frequent nose bleeding is also common among persons with sinusitis. See your doctor for a nasal exam. Some allergy medications , especially nasal steroids, can lead to nose bleeding however, it has been my personal experience that if i treat nasal allergies with nasal steroids and nose bleeding occurs, I have likely failed to diagnose a low grade sinus infection that frequently co-exists w/ allerg.

Many ways: U can take an antihistamine pill by mouth, a decongestant, or prescription nasal spray.  I will be very careful with otc nasal sprays.  They frequently has topical decongestant, which can cause rebound congestion after abrupt stopping after using it for a while, hence "addiction".
