Recheck/test: Otitis media can take around one month to heal . There may be a fluid accumulation interfering with your hearing, even if the bacterial infection is treated. I would recommend a hearing test at your doctors office - a re check of your tympanic membranes ( ear drums). If you are experiencing no bleeding, fever or pain, your doctor's office will probably ask you to return in late march/early april.

have ear infection, hearing sometime on sometime off, can hear the morning then cannot hear in the evening, is it recovering?

No: This is not a sign of recovery. Recovery would manifest in steady improvement. If you've been taking antibiotics for less than 72 hours, keep on taking them. If no improvement after that, call your doc. Make sure to take a probiotic supplement along with the antibiotic to prevent diarrhea.

i was diagnosed with a pretty bad inner ear infection, finished my antibiotic but now its itching and i still cannot hear out of that ear. why?

Takes time: To have a middle ear infection you accumulate fluid/pus/debris in the middle ear.This must eventually be absorbed by the body or drain down your Eustachian tubes to allow the normal air (hearing) to return.The duration of antibiotic use is based on how long it takes to kill the germ. The fluid (hearing loss) can persist for a few weeks after that stops.

what can i do about my ear? i popped it 2hrs ago & i still cannot hear...it hurts of i touch it. im chewing gum &yawning. how long will it last?

DEPENDS: An adult ear drum is easier to evaluate than that of a kid and less often obscured by wax buildup or debris in the canal.If the ER doc saw the ear drum a even a small rupture is relatively easy to spot.The smaller ones can heal quickly, but that would take a minimum of several days.A Q-tip placed in the canal during the process could have scraped the wall=blood.

i have a dullness in my right ear following having the flu, i have had my ears syringed a week ago but still cannot hear properly?

Fluid behind eardrum: Often during or after a viral infection, fluid can accumulate behind the eardrum causing a feeling of fullness and dullness.  It's not necessarily a bacterial infection so it doesn't always have to be treated with antibiotics.  Decongestants and intranasal steroids can help, but if it's persisting, then evaluation with an ENT is sometimes warranted.  Best of luck!

my right ear is blocked i put olive oil but still cannot hear i feel deaf it need to pop but it pops for a few.seconds when i clench hard butgoesagain?

Try other side: It may not be an external ear problem, rather internal--try a decongestant, like Pseudoephedrine (if no hypertension) or afrin (oxymetazoline). If improves for a while, should see ENT dr for evaluation and longer term management plan.

ear fullness i recently flew with a cold and upon the return trip my ears never "popped" after landing.  after 7 days i still cannot hear and feel as if i need to pop my ears.  i have been to my family physician who says there is fluid but no infection.

So : So what you have is called barotrauma and your doctor is right, the fluid does not need an antibiotic if it is clear. However, having the fluid there puts you at risk for an infection- so if more than a week has passed since you saw your doctor the first time, you should be reexamined. You might try chewing gum and yawning, but since 7 days has already passed, i doubt that would work. 
You might also change to Pseudoephedrine which is more effective than phenylephrine (the active ingredient in sudefed pe). In most states now, you need to get Pseudoephedrine from the pharmacist (as it is the ingredient used to make methamphetamine). You should not take this if you have high blood pressure.

finished 5d zpack for ear infection  feel ringing in ear, fluid and a little pain and  loss of hearing. could the infection still be there?

Possible: As it can still be a viral infection, very difficult to tell from the outset, also you may have chronic serous otitis media, meaning persistent fluid in your middle ear mainly due to Eustachian tube dysfunction, more common in kids though, also chronic  inflammation of nasal cavity/ throat for whatever reason like allergies can cause this. Kindly revisit your doctor or ENT specialist, good luck

7 yr old woke up cause her ear hurt and she cant hear from it. ear infection or something more?

Yes: Often theses little guys have a cold first. Waking up with a sore ear and decreased hearing sounds like an ear infection. Treat her for pain and have her see her doctor today. All the best and I hope she feels better.
