i have acid reflux and last night i had it come up and this morning i am coughing up light black phlegm. what could it be.?

has a tickle cough for 6 weeks no phlegm just tickly and also muscle at top of back been on dr google and now worried about cancer just wondering if anyone has any info on what it could be ,i have acid reflux but my medication stops all symptoms ?

Reflux can cause the cough if your stomach contents come up &amp; go down your larynx into lungs Gravity never sleeps so putting the head of you bed on 4-8" blocks may help a lot. Discus with Dr.

tend to lay down after i eat. an hour or less after. and snack in bed. may have acid reflux symptoms, not gerd, but lpr version. throat, phlegm. even sinus issues and cough. could this be the reason?

LPR differs from GER: LPR is similar to  GERD.  LPR, you may not have the classic symptoms of GERD,  Heartburn. That's why it can be difficult to diagnose and  sometimes called silent reflux.  In LPR Upper &amp; Lower esophageal sphincters do not work right, 
Silent reflux is common in infants because their sphincters are undeveloped,  shorter esophagus, and they lie down much of the time, In adults etiology is unknown.

past smoker for 25 yrs. non smoker for 9 yrs. coughing up phlegm with blood and black stuff  in the morning have tumors in right lung and acid reflux ?

CT scan: and oncology evaluation. You should have your sputum tested for infection ( culture) and cytology. You need to have your tumors checked and evaluated regularly. Are you taking any mediciation for reflux?- Check with your physician-ASAP.

Yes, probably reflux: Chronic unexplained cough could be associaterd with acid reflux as well as bronchial asthma. You should ask your physician about a trial of medication for acid reflux and take for at least 4 weeks and see if improves.

Depends how long you: Have been coughing, and 6 weeks is a long time to be coughing. You may be experiencing food allergies, if it's always after eating, and not due to gerd, or pnd. You could have a sinusitis that needs to be treated before it gets worse, or you may be reacting to environmental allergens inhaled. So, go to your doctor, and have her/him check you out, and get your diagnosis soon.

Acid reflux: start by taking  famotidine 20 mg   OTC meds---twice a a day    avoid alcohol/and food 2-3 hours before going to bed.. Add omeprazole 20 mg OTC  meds if symptoms persists-----if that does not help follow up with your pvt doctor

Try antihistamine: It's possible that your symptoms are related to allergies. Try using a non-sedating antihistamine like claritin. If that doesn't help consider a nasal steroid inhaler though that will require a prescription.

i get acid reflux when i eat salsa or tomato based along with beer. it always ends up with me wretching for most of the night & even coughing up chunks of food & saliva & in the morning they'll be blood & a dry cough, is it "gerd"?

: You say you have had acid reflux and that means GERD (GastroEosphageal Reflux Disease). If you have this condition, usually your distal esophagus (the food section which connect to the stomach) could be chronically inflamed (esophagitis) and when you retch too much, the inflamed mucosa can break and cause blood in the vomitus. You should see a doctor for taking care the reflux esophagitis.
