Toenail line: You probably had some trauma in the past to the growth plate which nows constructs the toenail with the line.  This might be unsightly, but unless thick and uncomfortable, can be ignored.  It might be an excuse to get a pedicure with polish if that fits your lifestyle.

both of my big toe nails have multiple layers of nail. they stopped growing because of an accident on one and an ingrown toenail (2x) on the other. right big toe nail is short (length) and tall. left big toe nail is shaped only with one portion raise?

: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without examining you. It does not seem to be an urgent matter. You may wish to consult a podiatrist.

Probably : Probably the most likely is fungal infections but many conditions can cause thickening of the toenail(s) such as eczema, psoriasis, chronic trauma, and fungal infections to name a few.  This is difficult without seeing the nail itself.  I would typically evaluate the nail for its characteristics such as color and texture of the nail to help make a diagnosis.  Often, i will take a sample of the nail for culture to see if there is any fungal infection and sometimes perform a nail clipping for biopsy if the diagnosis remains elusive.  I hope this helps a little.

Ingrown nail: Possibly.  If there is tenderness on the side of the nail, and the skin on that side is thickening, the most likely cause is an ingrown toenail.  I would see your Dr or a podiatrist to be sure, because they can become very painful if infected!  Good luck!  (Sometimes soaking the foot in warm Epson saltwater helps!)

Multiple causes: Nail cracking or fissuring can be caused by fungus, damage to the root or matrix as well as a number of dermatological conditions. If there is also discoloration under the nail, fungus is the likely culprit.

i have multiple thin blacks lines on big toe nails, they are at the top of the nails. they only 1mm in length. now i see another line starting on my finger nails. when i google it, it freaks me out. ?

Melanonychia: This is usually a benign condition called melanonychia. Next time you visit your Dr ask him/her to look at it to verify. This is pretty common in people with more melanin in their skin (i.e. Fitzpatrick scale 5-6).  If the nails are getting thicker or yellow this could also be due to a fungal infection (onychomycoses).  Neither of these conditions are dangerous, but the latter should be treated.

Nail base injury: This is an injury of the base of your nail also thought to be the root of your nail. There is an increase in brown pigment of melanin because of the injury. As the nail grows out the streak appears. It is not a dangerous problem.

iam 56 yrs as soon as i start lying down in bed at night, the big toe of my right foot involuntarily moves down on its own. this lasts for up to 30sec?

Nerve pressure: This seems as this is a positional phenomena.  When an extremity moves without intent(or your consent) a nerve is giving the orders.  When you lie down there are a group of nerves that are to some extent, getting stimulated via pressure.  Have you tried changing the position in which you sleep?  If this persists or is causing pain, you may want to have this checked out.
