lower right abdomen pain that varies from ok to not for months. part that is confusing is why my belly feels uncomfortable when wearing pants. which seemed ok for a few weeks once after taking meds. hiatal hernia or acid reflux or something else?

: Are there associated bowel problems? If so, inflammatory bowel disease could be the issue &amp; an evaluation by a gastroenterologist is in order. Other possibilities are chronic appendicitis which can go on for months or more, mild abdominal muscle inflammation or strain,occult inguinal hernia. .An abdominal surgeon would be best to consult for these possibilities.

diagnosed with ibs, gastritis, and hiatal hernia. i have had ct, and egd. 
it is uncomfortable to lay on my stomach is this okay? just nervous

Should be: These issues could make it a bit uncomfortable to lay on your stomach but you should not be experiencing much pain.  would discuss with your GI doctor further the exact nature of your disomfort to be sure it is not something else

uncomfortable chest center pain like a spasm,stab pain,worse when laying down.i had similar pain months ago and had ekg's,echo,chest x-ray,egd,hida scan.everything was normal except egd(4cm sliding hiatal hernia).told i dont have heartburn.any ideas?

: Still sounds like heartburn.  Or esophageal spasms. Perhaps a gastroenterologist will help. Hiatal hernia can be associated with reflux and that can get you pain and spasms. Good luck.

: Hiatal hernia does not present with pain in the lower abdomen. Abdominal pain is the main symptom of Crohn but changes in bowel movement such as loose, frequent stool with blood and mucous are also present. I wonder what medication is effective in relieving the pain, is it an antispasmodic? Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is more consistent than inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) in your case.

hi is there any way of fixing the hiatus hernia without operation done ?

Most likely: Most of hiatus hernias are sliding type , only rarer para esophageal hernias needs surgery as  they can incarcerate , surgery is for gerd  not for hernia , ( or the acid reflux),  most of the  time possible to control with  by diet, early supper, not over filling the stomach ,  elevation of head while sleeping, and protan inhibitors to reduce acid out put , try this first

Therapy: Prilosec or Nexium- 20- 40 mg/day plus Peto-Bismol should relieve your symptoms until seen and examined.

Maybe none: A hiatal hernia may have no symptoms. Sometimes there can be heartburn or acid reflux, worse with lying down too soon after eating. Rarely can have swallowing difficuties with food sticking in the esophagus. Rarely associated with anemia from severe gastritis in the herniated stomach.

i had a endoscopy done a few months back...a hiatus hernia was found in the ge junction and in the cardia...does this mean i have two hernias?

Probablythe same one: The cardia is at the top of the stomach ; the ge junction is at the bottom of the esophagus, so its sounds like your endoscopist was just being detailed in his/her description. Please call your doctor ; ask him/her your question to get a most accurate response ; better assess hernia size ; reduciblity (since after all he/she was the one inside looking).

Symptoms?: Many people have a hiatal hernia (the opening in the diaphragm for the esophagus is too big) but no symptoms.  These people need no treatment.  The most common problem is reflux which is effectively treated with acid blocking medications in most patients.  If the reflux is severe and not helped with medciations then the hernia should be repaired with an antireflux operation.
