Needs to be seen: Probably benign growth. It can be removed will leave scar. The only definitive diagnosis would be removal and submitting tissue to lab.

Could be: It could be "hot-tub folliculitis" which typically goes away on its own if a person stays out of the hot tub until the rash is gone. Rashes are hard to describe and to visualize in words, so a doctor would have to examine the rash to tell what it really could be.

You shouldn't: dermatologic conditions are hard to discuss without seeing them. Should not dig into skin without specific training or it will cause damage and/or infection. Any urgent care or Er or dermatologist can take care of it.

hi. i have a light brown bump on my leg that i have had for a couple of years now. i recall it appearing after i shaved my legs. but i'm sure it's not an ingrown hair. i just want to know what it could possibly be and if i should worry?

Probably ok: Would be helpful to see a pic of this spot to know what it is &amp; whether it is any cause for concern.  Most light brown bumps are going to be benign = non-cancerous, either a dermatofibroma, Nevus (mole), or seborrheic keratosis.  That said, some brown bumps could be melanoma, a dangerous skin cancer.  If it’s not growing or changing, I would be less concerned, but again, a pic/exam would help.
