Polydipsia can be caused by many conditions, including diabetes or salivary gland problems including sjogren's syndrome and others. The thick white layer on your tongue is vague and nonspecific. Wish you good health! - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

Yellow Coated Tongue: is an inflammation of the tongue papillae. The condition  occurs when bacteria in the mouth produce pigments which cause the tongue to develop a yellow coating. The causes are poor oral hygiene, medications, fever, dehydration, and mouth breathing. Use a tongue scraper and hydrogen peroxide (5:1 water) as a treatment.

Bad TAste: This can have several causes.  Strict diets offen cause some vitamin deficiencies and or mineral deficiency. A vegetarian diet may have marked difficiency in b-12 and other vitamins.  Also if protein is not adequate, this can cause your symptoms.
