i just found out i am 4 weeks pregnant and i had umbilical hernia repair ( non mesh, shouldice) on april  8th.   is this okay,  is it safe ?

You will be fine : Yes will be o k. After umbilical hernia repair  , can have children, can deliver normally or by C-section  with out problems, your OB doctor is trained to handle with this kind of situations , talk to your doctor.

i had an umbilical hernia repair  with mesh six weeks ago,how soon will i be able to sing rock songs,because when you sing powerfully  you strain .

Mesh: My feeling is that stress on the mesh area from vigorous singing wouldn't be a problem at this time. However this question is best answered by the surgeon who performed your repair as he/she knows the postoperative condition of your repaired umbilical area best.

i had an umbilical hernia repair with mesh done 4 years ago is it safe for me to have a baby and will the mesh cause any tearing of my tummy.

May be: it is hard to determined what will happen most likely the hernia might come back depend on the size of the screen they use and if you had your surgery open or laparoscopic  you have good chance you will be ok but again is unpredictable good luck

i just had an umbilical hernia repair with mesh last monday 2/17.  i just took a pregnancy test today and it was positive.  would it be safe to take an abortion pill?

Dilemma: Usually one would wait for at least 6 weeks after your type of repair to put stress on the abdomen and thus you would have to weigh the risk not aborting earlier vs the potential tear of the recent repair.   Although the risk of a tear from an early abortion is likely low, this is a difficult decision and you should consult the surgeon who did the surgery re. This asap.

i need to have an umbilical hernia repair. nobody seems to be able to answer whether i should fix it now or wait until i am finished having children.

Depends on severity: Hernias require repair to prevent complications or worsening. If  a lump is getting stuck in the hernia and can't be pushed back into the abdomen (reduced) it may contain intestine which could be dangerous. But if it is just an interesting finding on exam and is a little sore, it should probably wait until after  last pregnancy since stretching the repaired area may make the repair fail again.

Size, Symptoms: The biggest risk of any hernia is the potential for bowel to get stuck (incarcerated) within the hernia, necessitating emergency surgery to prevent intestinal death.  If an umbilical hernia has reached a size where this is a real risk, or if the pain from the hernia is interfering with one's daily activities, surgery should be strongly considered.  Best bet: see a surgeon for their opinion.

: Removal of Fallopian tubes can accompany laparoscopic repair of an umbilical hernia with cholecystectomy for gall bladder disease. Ask your GYN surgeon about this "permanent" contraception method to accompany the other planned surgery.

can bloating from 8 beers ruin/damage an umbilical hernia repair(open, no mesh, small hernia) over one night 2 1/2 weeks post op? i did not throw up.

8 beers: You should not have taken beers, at least for quite a while. If you don't you will only make yourself more sick!!
