: The information you gave us is just a little piece of an entire picture. With this, I can tell you that it could be seen in chronic subdural hematoma, higroma, trauma and other diagnoses and long words.  Really, NOT meaningful to you because I don’t have anything else related to your patient. The best is to ask the Neurologist who is in charge to explain. I’m sure he/she will be happy to do.

Gliosis: is an area of scarring or damage from a prior injury or insult to the brain.  It is not reversible.  It may not be relevant to whatever your current symptoms are, but your doctor needs to correlate.  You may need an MRI to confirm it is gliosis and not another process.

Non-diagnostic: There is some variation in the study but the investigation did not provide diagnostic information.
Wish you good health! - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

Benign: Although hard to say what it really is, there can be benign cysts that run in families, and commence at conception and just sit unnoticed and asymptomatic for years.  However, cystic lesions can occur during immune processes and infections.  Would avoid surgery unless correlation with current problems, and get followup MRI in a few months.

Sounds: like a hepatic cyst but should be confirmed by a high resolution study such as MRI/MRA.

what is the difference in an active brain lesion and non active in sjgren's syndrome?

Accepted Answer

Complex: Sjogren's can mimic primary progressive ms, and clinical signs of weakness, imbalance, incoordination or abnormal reflexes would suggest "active" brain lesions.  Mri with gadolinium positivity also a sign.  But sjogren's can also cause a small fibre neuropathy, and sensory symptoms and pain might be peripheral, not central.  In this area, you need a neurologist who is familiar with all of this.

Type of brain lesion: Ask your doctor for copy of brain scan report, what type of lesion do you have? Long list of lesions that show up on brain scan- some are there since birth, acquired from trauma/infection, can be benign.  Aside from type of lesion, location also matters.  Lastly do you have symptoms related to lesion. These are ?s to ask your doctor.

: Imaging and pathology reports are not written for patients themselves, but for their doctors and (in this case) other radiologists.  Patients should focus primarily on the interpretation, conclusion or diagnosis, usually at the end of the report. The meaning of these findings can't be judged without knowing a lot more about your case. Read the conclusion then discuss with your doctor. Good luck.
