The general modalitie are diet low in saturated fats and carbohydrates, weight loss throug diet and exercise, treatment of underlying illness, e.g., diabetes, hypothyroidism; use of drugs such as statins.  Additional drugs may be added depending on the response.

Bradycardia-: Resting bradycardia in itself is not necessarily a problem with exercise.  As long as there is no underlying cardiac elecrtical conduction problem, the heart rate should increase appropriately with exercise; if it does not, then something else is going on.  People with hyperlipidemia should always exercise, if there is no contraindication, as routine exercise improves cholesterol levels.
