Uric acid: I suspect you mean uric acid.  We all have some uric acid in our blood, it's a byproduct of the metabolism of living.  In certain people, the uric acid concentration become so high that uric acid gets deposited in undesireable locations, particularly the joints - so called gout!.  But it can be deposited in other locations like around the ears and elbows.  It also appears to inflame blood vessels!
