Accepted Answer

Not usually: Not unless the hydrocele was so large that it was "burying" your penis. If it is now gone your penis may appear larger but in reality it is not.

Probably right: A big hydrocele can get in the way during romantic love in any case. Treatment is easy. Go for it.

my testicle (which was diagnosed with hydroceles a few years ago, doesn't have it anymore) sometimes slips to the front on my penis base. it feels uncomfortable, not painful and can easily be slipped back. is it something to worry about? thanks

: No. testicles are very mobile in  the scrotum. Pl wear a good support underwear and you will be fine

i have pain at the base of my penis on the left side which gets worse when touched and feels firmer than right side. ultrasound showed variocele and hydrocele but urologist said it was not too concerning. pain has persisted for 3 weeks?

: I would recommend you follow-up with the urologist if the pain is persistent. If you just saw them, you could also consider getting a second opinion to examine you and review the ultrasound. There are times when those issues need surgery, although they are usually observed. I would wonder whether there is also a hernia there which may not be seen at times.

Not usually: An injury to both the penis and scrotum can cause discoloration to both organs. However, a hydrocele should not affect the penis in any way except to hide it by mass effect if the hydrocele is large enough (i.E soccer ball sized).

ever since i suddenly developed a hydrocele, my penis has been shrinking a couple inches into my foreskin when i poop, and randomly at other times. why is this happening? is this an urgent matter?

: A hydrocoele will generally not cause "penile shrinking", but increased abdominal contractions with for example, defecation efforts may cause retraction of the visible penis into the skin folds , making it appear as "shrinking" , but this is normal and not a concern or "urgent".  If penile erection does not occur, see a urologist for an exam and guidance.

hi doctor, little bit of blood coming in urine and some irritation also there inside of penis. what is issue. am 26yrs old and i has hydrocele already?

Here are some: Did the urine look grossly bloody while feeling urethral irritation at voiding? If so, be checked out for  UTI (bacterial/viral); besides, consider, check, &amp; treat for common STD such as chlamydia, especially with urethral discharge. If no UTI is confirmed, gross bloody urine needs to be evaluated with CT.IVP + cystoscopy despite age 26. As to hydrocele, it may not be related with bloody urine.

ive had surgery last week for hydrocele on both testicles. few days ago my right testicle is really firm compared to the left and is giving me pain on the right side of the inner thigh and right above the penis. what could this be?

: sometimes a little blood or inflammation of the epididymis on that side can cause that. Avoid exertion, wear a good scrotal support, take Ibuprofen- if not improved in a few days see the surgeon. Good luck

Adductor muscle pull: The hydrocele is almost always left sided and insignificant.
