drink lots of water: Sometimes you may feel like you are hungry when in reality you are just dehydrated. Drink plenty of water and if you still feel hungry then you are actually hungry.

Worth a checkup: You are right that just simply not being hungry is not something to ignore. There are several possible reasons. There could be a medical condition affecting your hunger, there could be something affecting your sense of smell (smell plays a large role in the enjoyment of food), or you could be depressed. In any event it is worth talking to your doctor.

Simply put, the more calories you take in the more weight you will gain, so you have to decrease your consumption.

Tricky.: Without actually seeing and examining I cannot give a personal answer. Irritation of the stomach classically is soothed by food (ulcer). But milder irritation, stress, or just abnormal spasms of the stomach can also feel the same and be helped by food

Stomach or not?: Lots of possibilities here, which can be addressed by a physical exam &amp; appropriate testing. "Hunger pains" may mean cramping, nausea, gnawing, etc. You didn't localize your distress, nor provide enough specifics for a better targeted answer. Nevertheless, I would at least be concerned about an ulcer.

Yes and no: As long as you are taking in adequate fluids to pee at least every 6 hours and are able to function well, you can probably listen to your body and let it "reset" your appetite to match your new circumstances.Multiple small balanced snacks over the day may do the trick rather than feeling you must follow a regular meal pattern.
