how can i treat gastro in 9 month old baby?

Keep hydrated: Continue baby's breast milk or formula, he may tolerate smaller amounts at a time if he is vomiting.  Watch for at least 3 wet diapers a day.  A cotton ball can be useful if he's having watery stools to distinguish stool from urine.  Limit his "P fruits" like peaches, pears and prunes, as these may worsen diarrhea.  Studies show the sooner babies get back to regular diet, the sooner it resolves.

was dx & treated for idiopathic gastroparesis 5 years ago, & now dx with late stage lyme. having symptoms of gastro again, could lyme be the cause?

It has been describe: it has been described but am not certain how validated those descriptions are. It is unusual but other neurological syndromes have been noted. This is not an easy question to answer and you can discuss it with your physician  and if so needed be referred to a center that treats lyme disease.

Yes: An otolaryngologist (ent - ear, nose, throat) or a gastroenterologist can treat reflux.

i have gerd (gastro reflux disease). what is done to treat this disease?

Medication: There are three main ways to treat gerd.  First is behavior changes such as avoiding foods like fried and fatty foods, carbonated beverages, coffee, chocolate.  Next would be medications to shut down acid like zantac (ranitidine) (h2 blockers) or Prilosec (ppi's).99% of people can be controlled this way but infrequently surgery can be done as well to prevent acid from getting into the esophagus.

i have a friend thats newly diagnosed with wilsons disease. she has a hematologist, she has a gastro and a cardiologist. what type of specialist would she need to manage/treat her wilsons disease? shes feeling at loss & scared?

: Would assume that her three specialists would be quite adequate, and if specific issues worsen, am confident of appropriate referrals if needed.  A big issue with chronic disorders, is the emotional adjustments needed to confidently cope.  She may well benefit from a cognitive behavioral therapy approach from a skilled psychologist.  Discuss this with her.

Heart burn: Gall bladder is a storage organ for bile . Once Gall bladder is removed, bile starts to reflux , which gives heart burn. You may take Pepcid (famotidine) or ranitidine or Omeprazole in the mean time to help with heart burn. : Such nerve compression is not a likely cause of diarrhea. Almost certainly these are entirely separate problems.

blastocystis hominis 3 yrs ago. symptoms fit mayo clinic description. gastro wants to repeat test & treat me with flagyl. success rate in med. lit. is dismal. any other treatment options i could ask for? could blasto cause b12 deficiency over time?

: Many drugs have been used to treat blastocystic hominis, the only question is whether your sx are due to this protozoan or it is just an innocent bystander. The preferred tx agents are Flagyl (metronidazole), Tinidazole and Paromomycin. Alternative treatment agents are TMP-SMX (sulfa drug) and Nitazoxanide.
No relationship btwn Blastocystic and B12 def but other bowel diseases may cause B-12 def.
