This results in a deposition of more pigment, in, say a few weeks in a Scotch Irish person, and much longer.and much more seriously in black.persons. See a cosmetically oriented dermatologists asap.

i have irritated and burnt my skin with benzoyl peroxide and aha/bha. a large part of my cheeks that are affected are darker in skin tone and somewhat reflects light(mayb the skin texture is damaged) after the redness subsided. is this permanent ?

Healing: The process of healing after an injury can take weeks. it's best to avoid strong sunlight on burned or injured skin while it's healing. Use sunscreen to avoid permanent skin color changes after it has healed.

No: Some people are allergic to it and get temporary redness and itching, but use of 10% benzoyl peroxide will not cause any permanent damage.

i used benzoyl peroxide 10% for acne everyday. today my skin started to burn really bad when using it like it was on fire. is this normal?

No: Some people are allergic to benzoyl peroxide.  It is also irritating to some degree for almost everyone.  10% is a high strength, but it doesn't actually work any better than 2.5%.

You should lay off it for a few days, and if you wish to keep using benzoyl peroxide, you could re-try a lower concentration.

Life is not so predictable. Skin darkening sometimes take years to fade.

i have redness on my face from benzoyl peroxide burn. it has been 2 years and still not faded. i dont know if i have rosacea as i heard u can get it from damaged skin. will it ever go away ? i moisturize daily and have not used harsh products since.

See specialist: A simple reaction to BP would last a week or two at the most. If you have issues/scarring 2 years later it will require consultation with a dermatologist to come up with a way to treat you. No proper label can be put on your issue from the vague description given.

i have been using duac (benzoyl peroxide)for 6 days now stopped due to the patchyness of my skin tone it looks like hyperpigmentation which ive never had before,my skin darkened now its patchy is this temporary how do i fix it is it due from a burn?

Interaction: between the bezoyl peroxide andthemoisturizer. Check the ingeditents ( especially alcohol and chemicals ) in the moisturizer o.r swithch to a simple barrier like Nivea or Lubriderm

Skin irritation: This product is not strong enough to cause a chemical burn but it can cause skin irritation in those with sensitive skin.  Stop using the product, keep the area moist with eucerin sensitive skin lotion, and consider topical 1% Hydrocortisone cream otc.  If no improvement, see a dermatologist.

mild acne, used benzoyl peroxide 5% gel on entire face overnight for past 2 months twice a week. got red, itchy, burning feeling. now stopped using but skin has red slightly atrophic blotches. is it permanent ? did i give myself chemical burn?

: Did your face blister or peel? If not I expect no permanent facial skin damage. The face has a great blood supply for healing.
