Heel lift can take off tension and ease pain

Avoid massage initially.

After 1-2 weeks can start mild stretching program. May take unto 6 weeks to heal.

ER-STAT: You may have thrombophlebitis- quite a common presentation: have somneone drive you directly to the ER:NOW! If there is a clot in your leg it can go to your lungs, heart or brain.

Big difference: Between the two, blood clot needs immediate attention and warrants an ER visit if this is suspected, pulled muscle can use rest, ice or heat, stretching, etc....
They are completely two different entities, blot clot can kill you, a muscle strain is just that a strain.

Tendinitis : Dear patient a pulled muscle may take 4 - 6 weeks to heal so maybe you need some gentle physio with stretching and massage. You can also take a anti inflammatory pill if needed and try to rest the injured area x at least 2 weeks .

Massage the muscle: Lots of possible causes starting with high heels.  If you have had cancer or other reason to be at risk for blood clot then see your doctor for full eval.  Are you climbing stairs a lot or walking on inclines? Try massaging the muscle with a good menthol balm, start vit E 400mg daily, and if that dent resolve, see you doc for a more thorough eval

Seen a neurologist?: Have you seen a neurologist yet? Although there may be a clinical suspicion of sciatica (vs the tendonitis that you already have), if your symptoms have worsened or progressed (as indicated by your question), then further diagnostics may be necessary. Could be either : Sounds like it's a pulled muscle and you can try some anti inflammatory medications along with heat applied to your calf. However, blood clot must be ruled out and I suggest you see your doctor for obtaining leg ultrasound.
