Does your : School have an elevator? If so you can use crutches...and get a nite for an elevator pass. If you don't have an elevator, you can go to school with crutches and get a nite that you may be late to classes and go up stares gingerly or on your backside.....

Yes: If you are still having pain, then you should keep your full weight off the foot until you can do so with minimal pain. I'm not sure how you know it's just a sprain, but if you haven't had an xray and you still have the symptoms you describe,  then I  would suggest an xray. If things don't improve in a week, you need reevaluation.  You could also consider a walking boot to help support the ankle.

Sprained ankle : Please follow recommendations from your diagnosing doctor. Rest is part of treatment as is early mobilization. Based on the type and degree of sprain you should have received clear recommendations.

: An industrious person would find a pair of crutches and follow their normal routine, unless you were specifically told to stay at home with your leg in the air.

Go to ED: Go to the emergency room or urgent care for an x-ray. I sprain you can't "walk off" is suspicious for a fracture.

Don't walk on it: Use crutches and no pe. Use an ace bandage and see a podiatrist to determine what grade of sprain it is.

Ankle sprain: There is a chance you could play depending on how much pain you are having. I suggest you get a lace up ankle support to wear while you are playing for protection.  Also make sure you can run on the ankle before playing.

i have hurt my ankle and  i am not sure if i have sprained it or not. i can walk on it aslong as i keep it straight and don't bend it as i get pain. my mum is telling me to take some pain killers and go to school but do i need to do anymore and see my gp?

Splint!: It is vey important that you do not re-injure the ankle for 6 weeks. To protect you from "rolling" it again, we usually put you in a splint that can be worn in your shoe.  The more you are upright, the more swollen you will be later in the day. It will increase your pain a bit. You should get your splint, and then take NSAIDS Before you go to school, and after to keep swelling down. Also ICE it.
