can i go to the emergency room to get a monroe( lip ring) removed. my skin grew over the ring. if not who can i go to.

You may need: a skilled plastic surgeon to reduce the chances of permanent scarring. talk to your family doc first unless of course you truly have an Emergency/Urgency with sever skin infection/fevers, sever pain, pus coming out etc

my lip ring healed over i got a lip ring (it's a flat-backed stud) a few months ago, but last week it healed completely over the back. i have an appointment for a physical next week. is it safe to wait, and will it be difficult to remove?

The : The main complication of an embedded ear ring or lip ring is infection.  If there is any swelling, redness, or tenderness around the area, you need to see your doctor immediately.  You should call your doctor anyway and schedule an appointment for removal of the lip ring.  Most doctors will not be able to do the procedure during the time allotted for just the physical, so call first to make sure.

As far as the removal goes, the difficulty depends on how far in it is embedded and how much scar tissue you have surrounding the lip ring.  It is usually removed by the doctor applying a numbing medication, cleaning the area and then either making a small incision or just pushing it out.

Dehydrated: Large rise in heart rate upon standing is your heart attempting to compensate for the low blood pressure caused by the change in position.  This is also known as "orthostatic hypotension."  that unclear feeling is what you get before you pass out, known as pre-syncope.  Your should probably call the surgeon that did your recent operation and ask if he wants you to go to E.R. Or just to hydrate up.

15 years ago, i suffered a head injury.  the frontal lobe of my skull was removed, repairs made and it was replaced.  i have had little or no problems until two days ago.  i now feel pressure on my forehead.  i have also had ringing in my ears?

: Typically, the places that put in the rings, are best equipped to take them out. Not sure what embedded means, but  if there is a more complicated procedure needed, you may need to seek a plastic surgeon to remove it without scarring.

YOU don't!: See a dermatologist for this.  Even some dermatologists refer face issues to a plastic surgeon, since scaring is a known risk.  Please don't even think of using some over-the-counter acid wart remover on your face!

Cosmetic lip mask: I had to consult a specialist on this - my girlfriend. Here's her recommendation: use a lip mask. They have exfoliating beads and some even have salicylic acid. Benefit cosmetics makes a great one as does mary kay.

Go back: Can you go back to where you got the ring and have them remove it?  It may need to be snipped with very small precise plyers and they may have the appropriate tool.
