Varies: There are several types of clavicle (aka collarbone) surgeries. Some common procedures consists of clavicle fractures, ac joints repairs, distal clavicle excisions, cyst/ spur removal, or acromioplasty (actually is part of the scapula). Recover time often depends on the extent of the work that has to be done. Can you be more specific in the type of procedure you are asking about.

B sure U R Cing Orth: The more surface area involved will hasten healing, and many r rx'd with a sling especially if in many fragments, and r hard 2 fix. If the ac and sc joints r good it may be the best way to handle it . If there are a few larger fragments it may be able to fixed by an experienced in clavicle.

i was told that after a collarbone breaks it becomes stronger after it heals. i don't remember why, it was a while ago. is this true?

Probably not: Bone heals by forming a ring of new bone around the fracture - hence the bump you find on clavicle fractures. Once healed it absorbs and usually goes back to normal shape. Depending on your overall bone health, your collar bone should return to about as good as it was before. Be sure to eat healthy - get enough calcium and vit d in your diet to promote overall good bone health.

Up to a year: A "bone bruise", or subperiosteal hematoma, can cause significant discomfort for a few months then be tender to touch somewaht for a year or more.

Depentant on the contact associated with the sport, there are times professional athletes can return. Remember, however, professional athletes have certified athletic trainers working with them several hours a day, not typical patient.

4-6 weeks: Depending on the extent of the fracture, your activities and the treatment your received, it will take 4-6 weeks for the fracture to be considered healed.  You may do more than you think sooner and it may take longer if you don't do what you should or overdo it.  Bones usually heal in 4-6 weeks, (generalized).

Collar bone: By now you probably have enough callus formation so you shouldn't have any trouble driving

See your doctor.: You should see your doctor for an examination and possible X-ray. It would be important to evaluate your lungs for any sign of pneumonia or bronchitis and your collarbone for any fracture.

can a collarbone with hairline fracture (landed on it while skiing downhill) heal incorrectly? have a bump where it broke then can't feel rest of it.

Probably not: If it displaced a little and healed with some displacement there can be a bump. Also if there was callus you can feel that as a bump as well. Although u would usually be able to feel the other side were that the case. Clavicle fractures do well if they heal with non operative care. There is some evidence that very displaced fractures can result in some strength loss if not fixed.
